Little Billies Bee Balm

I'm gearing up for a craft fair at This Old Barn May 2, 2015 so everything I've been making needs to be packaged somehow.  Sometimes you have to get creative,  I don't spend a lot of money on getting labels made up I do them myself with Avery online.  It's easy to do, but how to label a lip balm? Well I came up with cutting out the label taping it to the back side of my business card.  I used colour electrical tape to seal the lip balm, and hot glued gunned it down.  Works for me ! I think they're fun.
Retail $5.00 thanks for looking!!

Shabby Chic Bubble Bath Salts

I am gearing up for Mother's Day and wanted to do something special for a moms day gift.  I've been having some fun making bubble bath salts.  These are like bubble bars only not compressed.  I found pretty neon wine glasses and conjured up a recipe that not only bubbles but also relaxes us at the same time.  These bubble salts contain Kosher Dead Sea Salts, Epsom Salts, Baking Soda, Citric Acid, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate for those Hollywood Bubbles.  Fragranced with Jungle Love from Natures Garden, it has citrus scent with key notes of pineapple and kiwi.  So summery I love this scent.  Coloured with yellow vegetable based gel colour.  It's pretty.  7 oz in this glass.
I made melt and pour daisies and swirled the colours of white, green, and yellow with the same fragrance.
Love how they turned out.  I used a syringe to do the layering.  Took me a couple hours to finish these
Wrapped two daisies into a soap favour to go into each set with fine tulle. To finish off the wine glass I covered the glass with thick cling wrap and secured it with coloured electrical tape to make them non spill.  Found scrap material from Walmart in pretty neon colours and prints. Ripped it into squares and pulled the strings to shabby chic the look.  Secured with a colour matching rubber band and hid that with a pretty ribbon.
I went to Party City and found flower lollipops that I thought would be pretty to stick into this to finish it off. And finally my score at the thrift store flower patterned
cello wrap, for 25 cents!!! I wrapped the wine glass, soap  favour and secured with curly ribbon.  Secured a printed product tag and of course my business card inside each one ! And look at this finished product, they look like a peacock ! I love these! How pretty for mom,  I am also doing these with Black Cherry Bomb, which I will post when they're ready.
My mother has been gone for 18 years now her birthday is May 3rd right before Mothers Day.  Her name is Miriam she was 58 when she passed from cancer.  Never smoked , never drank, did yoga everyday, ate healthy, too young.  Miss her love her.  She would have loved one of these.  For you mom!  Happy Mothers Day, praise your mothers life is too short not to.  Thanks for reading !

Earth Soap

Results love them both ways,
Cut out peace sign and poured mp into spaces mixed with TD.  You lose the cut out parts tho.  I'm undecided whether to cut them or leave them.  ?!! ??!
Hemp and olive oil. Love the dark green.
Earth colour.
Spooned in clumps at thick trace.  In the Pringles can,
Earth . Nice scent , no ricing, not overpowering.
Ingredients.
Got three cans out of recipe. I saw this on Soaping 101 on YouTube, had to try it.  I'll post results here when we get to the next stage.  Thanks for looking.  Please keep coming back.  I love sharing my  work with you all.
So here's the finished packaging.  Went to the thrift store found an old atlas with pages of maps.  Cut out peace signs and wrapped each soap into a circle cutout .  The peace sign I cut out the design with exacto blade and then laminated it with packing tape.  Gotta improvise somehow lol
Think they look fun.  On the backside I wrote captions regarding Earth.  I taped all the edges with tape by the way, to keep it in place and tied it with a raffia to finish it off and made product tags using my business cards. Time consuming!  Started at 9 am finished by 5 pm couple of breaks inbetween.  When you work at home you can not get distracted I'm really trying to use my time management skills at home.  No phone playing either.
Retail $8 each thanks for reading!!

Soap! M&P Whales and failure

Won this little nail clipper then found this.,,,
Then made these
Coloured with lime green and blue gel colour.  Fragranced with
Sea Salt and Lotus Blossum.  I want to embed them into a soap. Any ideas what the theme should be?  Green Peace? Save the Whales, Your input would be great to hear. Thanks for reading,  Update! Well I wanted to embed these into a clear mp so it would look like they were swimming.  :( the mp didn't turn clear.  The whales got totally buried into white soap.  Dissappointed to say the least.  I'm not a fan of melt and pour I'm better at cold process soaps.  I had to order clear base to remake this.  And bye bye fishies. I cut them up.  Now to start again.  The fish were so cute! :(

Little Billies Bee Balm

When I was a little girl my nana always called me "Little Billie" I knew I wanted to incorporate that somewhere in my products and so to commemorate my dad Bill, I made these.
Little Billies Bee Balm.   Made with all natural beeswax, pure bee honey , coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, orange butter, soybean oil.  Tastes a bit like honey and smells like cocoa.  I've been doodling this bee since public school, I knew I was drawing him for a reason lol.  Here he is years later! Foaming Dead Sea Salts

Made these posted one FB page sold out over nite.  A winner recipe.  Read on.
I have been wanting to make a bath soak for some time now but I could never find the right type of container to put it in.  Until today when combing the isles of Walmart.  Bright colour champagne plastic glasses.  I researched recipes and found one I liked and tweeked it to make it my own.  Not only did I want to make a Dead Sea Salt bath, I also wanted it to have bubbles.  Using the Bubblebar concept here's what I did.  Dead Sea Salts, Epsom  Salts, Baking Soda.  These three use a large solo cup and fill each ingredient to the first line.  Next:  citric acid 1/3 cup, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate 2/3 cup, mix ingredients well.  Add colour if you want I used blue gel colour in one batch and pink and green in second batch.  Add your essential oil or fragrance oil of your choice.  Blue I used Mystic Orange Moonshine from Natures Garden.  It's sweet and spicy, I like it.  I poured in about 1 1/2oz  mixed by hand wearing rubber glove.  The 2nd batch I used pink and green gel colour and Gardenia  fragrance from WSP. It's flecked like flowers, pretty.  Smells very floral.  Nice for a bubble bath.  These remind me of Bubblebars only difference is it's not solid.  Same effect less work.  Hope you enjoy making them.  My retail $8.50.  Not bad for a couple hours work.  Now to figure out how to pkg. them,
Please feel free to comment.  I'd love to hear back from you all.  Thanks for reading!
