Midnight Blue

Well Christmas is over and time to think about the next holiday, Valentines Day.  Listening to some classic music I became inspired by Melissa Manchesters Midnight Blue.  I used to play this song long ago on the piano and still love it today.

Unicorn Poo Challenge Starr Soaps

 I have been an avid follower of Crystal StarrAnderson, she's one of my favourite YouTube soap makers.    From New Zealand. Just before Christmas she gave us a challenge to make unicorn poo  soap.   I am pretty new to piping soap,  and I have yet to master the technique. After a few failed attempts I finally created a recipe that worked. Here are my submissions to the challenge.

Melt and pour loofah with unicorn poo piped on top. With a flower embed because unicorns can just do that! These were made with shea butter, coconut, olive oil, cinnamon bun fragrance, micas blue, raspberry vibrance, neon pink. My piping is getting better. Practice practice practice. The loofahs are coated with remelted mp soaps that didn't sell. Good way to repurpose that. I'm so looking forward to more challenges it keeps us soapers in the loop!  

Last market 2015

Well Merry Christmas to you all thank you for your support and following my love of soap making.  Christmas time is so busy and the hustle and bustle keeps us running to get the last minute things done.  At Natures Touch we have been busy in the markets selling our fine soaps and bath products. Thanks to everyone who came out to support us. Our Christmas soaps are gone and more then half our inventory is depleted.

Last minute gift item we made Whoville WhoPoo soap.  For that grinch on your list. A big wonky mound of multicoloured soap and glitter with an embedded flower on the top.  We sold these for $3.50. All gone. Super stocking stuffer. Scented with cranberry and bubblegum. Who Knew! Lol.                                                                   With 2016 just 4 days away we are taking a much needed break and want to wish everyone a safe, joyful, peaceful, thankful, loving Christmas Season.  Thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for this special occasion. Without Him there would be no celebration. See you in the New Year and remember take a cab, call a friend, don't drink and drive. Arrive home safe. 

100% coconut soap

Cupcake 4.75 ounces. Butterflies 4.25 ounces. Organic coconut oil soap. With added coconut milk powder, rainwater,  sodium hydroxide. Super hard cleansing bar super bubbly, silky soft great for shampoo, shaving, all over body bar. No razor burn, no skin irritation, beautiful shave. Butterflies $4.50 cupcakes $5.00 have a man customer who only used this to shave.

With Christmas fast approaching we thank you all for following us throughout the year. The Christmas markets have been busy and it's one time of year we work around the clock.  Nature's Touch has been travelling to out of town communitues in our regional area and have been warmly welcomed by the local people.  We are striving to provide you and our loyal customers the best in soap and skin care products and look forward to growing bigger in the new year.

Bath Bombs!

Cranberry fragrance bomb. Fragrance from Voyaguer Soap and Candle.  Very festive scent for the upcoming holidays! These are easy to do a bit messy and fun! 

Juicy Orange from Nuture's Soap.  Love love this citrus scent! For the mold a plastic wine glass. These popped out of that glass perfectly and they look like bells! Never mind the Christmas ball molds these are way easier and bigger! Simple basic recipe:  2 cups baking soda, 1 cup citric acid, teaspoon fragrance oil or essential oil, teaspoon gel colour or you could use food colours. 1 tsp oil I used sweet almond oil. You could use melted shea butter, cocoa butter or your choice. I also added irredescent glitter to the mix (optional) Witch hazel or water in a spray bottle. (Be careful with spritzing so you don't create the reaction) I used water. Mix all ingredients except the water and blend thouroughly. Spritz lightly so mixture clumps well in your hand and sticks together. What I did was double this recipe so when I spritzed I did a bit at a time just to moisten the bit I was getting into the wine glass. I scooped it in and pushed it with my fingers then added more to fill the goblet. When full I twisted the bottom with the palm of my hand to smooth out.  Then knock on the top of the glass with a spoon and turn it round tapping until you hear it pop and it let it fall into your hand. Have a cookie sheet ready lined with parchment paper and set your bombs there to dry. I topped them off with more glitter for extra glam. These turned hard quickly too! Love this recipe was so simple. Today I made 34 bombs these will be going to market for a Christmas show in a couple weeks. These are going for 7.50 each cdn. And I think a bomb would make such a good stocking stuffer don't you?! Thanks for stopping by the soap kitchen once again till next time. Bye for now  

I added some red and green mica to the cranberry bomb I wish I would have maybe not done that. Too late now.  I thougt it maybe festive, I'll leave that up to you to decide. 

Off to market

There's been no time to blog.  As I have been busy getting ready for the Christmas markets.  Wrapping soap, making labels, getting my booth items packed. Crazy time but this is what we Work for all year. Christmas is key time for crafters. My first show Kaministiqua Community Ctr. 

What a great hall! Huge.  We had a super turn out and lots of great people. Good food. Hot dogs sold out, chilli and a bun soooo good. I went to get a dog but waited too long when I got the chance they were gone.  I opted for the chilli and it was so warming and filling. I will be back to this hall in the future.
